AccessED Hacks is an online education-access hackathon. Build from October 17, 2026 at 12:00 AM until November 20 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Judges review entries November 21 at 9:00 AM through November 22 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Results are scheduled for November 23 at 9:00 AM Eastern Time.
Who may enterEntrants must be students at a recognized educational institution, above the legal age of majority in their country of residence, and eligible under the geographic requirements displayed on this site. Companies are excluded. Solo and team entries are allowed; all team members must be eligible. Organizers and judges may not compete for awards.
What counts as an entrySubmit one Devpost entry per project addressing a specific barrier to learning. Include a project story, screenshots, and an accessible demo, build, or recorded walkthrough. A demo video is optional. Identify work created during the event and distinguish it from pre-existing work. Any stack, including low-code and AI-assisted tools, is allowed when its terms permit use.
Respect learners and creatorsUse synthetic or permission-cleared examples; do not upload private educational records or identifiable learner data. Credit third-party work and AI assistance. Only use material you have permission to use. Do not require judges to provide private personal information to test a demo. Keep judging links available through Nov 22.
Scoring and rankingFour criteria carry equal weight: Barrier Removed, Learning Value, Inclusive Experience, and Working Prototype & Explanation. Each is scored from 1 to 5. Rank eligible projects by total score. Ties are resolved by Barrier Removed, then Learning Value, then a comparative review by the judges. Unverifiable claims and nonfunctional core features may reduce scores.
Community standardsRespect other participants. Harassment, discrimination, plagiarism, cheating, and interference with other entries are prohibited. Entries that violate these requirements may be excluded from judging. Use the organizer contact link for questions or concerns.
